What is The UPSC Age Limit?

UPSC Age Limit

Required Documents To Prove Age Limit

If you are a General candidate or EWS applicant, then you don’t need any documents to upload for age limit verification. You are considered a general candidate. Other than this, candidates have to upload any one document mentioned below.

Apart from this eligibility, there are two more criteria to appear in the UPSC Civil Services exam. Applicants must have the required educational qualifications, and he/she should have Indian Citizenship also. Here are the details.

Required Education Qualification  Applicants must have a valid bachelor’s degree from a UGC-recognized university.

Nationality  The candidate should be an Indian citizen. Else, there are other conditions that allow other nation’s candidates to apply for the UPSC exam.

Number of Allowed Attempts

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has set a fixed number of attempts for every category. Candidates of those categories can appear in the exam according to their allowed attempts. Here are the details.

General category candidates are allowed to appear 6 times till 32 years of age.
OBC Aspirants have 9 allowed attempts till the maximum age for their category.
There is an unlimited number of attempts allowed for candidates who belong to the SC/ST category till their maximum age.
