Various Types of Sensors Used in Cement Industry

One of the largest basic material industries in the world is the cement industry. Limestone is the primary raw material in the cement business, much like in other basic material industries. To produce the finished product, cement production goes through a variety of processes. The end product should be of the highest quality possible, which can be accomplished with the best process conditions, which necessitate regular process condition monitoring.

Temperature sensing products in the cement industry

Some of the temperature sensing solutions used in the cement industry are as follows:

Sensor of contact-type temperature

When the heat balance is reached, a contact type temperature sensor is brought into touch with the object being monitored and measures the temperature. These sensors include thermistors, platinum resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), and thermocouples.

Contact temperature sensors employ conduction to track temperature changes and must come into direct physical contact with the object being sensed. They can be used to find objects that are solid, liquid, or gaseous throughout a wide temperature range.

Thermocouples, RTDs, thermowells, gauges, calibration equipment, nickel, and thermocouple alloy are just a few of the accessories that are offered along with the extensive selection of contact temperature sensors for cement production.

Non-contact type sensors

The temperature of an object surface can be measured using a non-contact method without making physical contact with the surface. Devices like infrared thermometers, infrared cameras, and industrial furnace monitoring cameras, are available in single point and area inspection model configurations.

Advantages of Non-Contact Measurement

  1. Measuring moving, difficult-to-reach, or extremely hot things
  1. Exceptionally rapid measurement and reaction times
  1. Damage-free measurement
  1. Longevity of the measuring point; lack of deterioration
  1. Possibility of measuring even in electromagnetic fields, high voltages, or hostile materials

Heating solutions

For processes that fall within the categories of low-temperature (up to 400°C), medium-temperature (between 400 and 1,150 °C), and high-temperature (over 1,150°C), a number of industrial heating solutions are offered.

Baking and drying, curing paints, soldering, moulding, and shaping polymers are all low-temperature procedures. Melting plastics and some other non-metals for casting or reshaping, as well as annealing, stress-relieving, and heat-treating metals, are examples of medium temperature operations. Steelmaking, brazing, welding, metal casting, cutting, smelting, and the creation of certain compounds are all high-temperature operations.

Additionally, component heaters are offered that are used to heat various pieces of machinery in sectors like plastic packaging, plastic extrusion, plastic forming, and surface heating via conduction or convection. Hot rod cartridge heater, silicon rubber heater, strip warmers, band heaters, and more component heaters are available. As the name implies, process heaters are heaters that come into touch with the process.

In these kinds of heaters, the process fluid enters from one end, travels through the heater, and then exits from the other end. The heater’s heat is transferred to the process fluid through convection or radiant heat transfer. Metallic heating elements used in cement production such as bundle rod, and furnaces are extensively used by reputable clients throughout the world for metal heating applications, heat treatment procedures, glass industries, plastic heating, etc.

Cables & Wires

CT-111, 3 Core Control Cable with PTFE Insulation

Industrial control cables come in a variety of styles and rated voltages up to and including 1100V. According to diverse industry uses, control cable can be divided into multicore screened, armored, and un-armoured types.

6 Core RTD Cable PTFE-PTFE RT-101

The RTD signals are sent from the field-mounted sensors to the control room using RTD cable.

Depending on the type of RTD being used and the number of devices being monitored, it is a form of instrumentation cable with 2, 3, 4, 6, or 8 cores, or possibly groups of pairs, triads, or quads.
